The Botswana Communications Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (BWCIRT) works with BOCRA to strengthen resilience in the communications sector. It coordinates awareness, shares advisories on emerging threats, and provides a structured path for reporting significant cyber incidents affecting licensed operators and critical services.

BWCIRT does not replace law enforcement or operator security teams; it complements them by improving information flow, publishing good-practice guidance, and helping stakeholders prepare for outages, ransomware, and data-breach scenarios that could affect national connectivity.
